Qingyun Cao is a Venture Partner at iFly.VC Silicon Valley, focused on U.S. technology innovation and investment trends across both private and public markets. Before investing, Qingyun served as a U.S.-based Senior Economics Correspondent and Mexico Bureau Chief at CCTV (China Central Television), China’s largest television network.

Qingyun has interviewed hundreds of senior global policymakers and business leaders, including Christine Lagarde (former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund), Jim Yong Kim (former President of the World Bank Group), Lawrence Summers (former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury), J. Stapleton Roy (former U.S. Ambassador to China), and Adam Posen (President of the Peterson Institute for International Economics), as well as prominent Chinese government and technology leaders including Gang Wan (former Minister of Science and Technology of China),  Guangyao Zhu (former Vice Minister of Finance of China), Tao Zhang (former Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China), and business leaders Dewang Cao (President of Fuyao Group), Chengdong Yu (Huawei Executive Director), and Yaqin Zhang (President of Baidu). In 2017, she produced a 30-minute investigative documentary—filmed across Washington, D.C., Detroit, and Ohio in three days—on the controversy and adaptation challenges surrounding Fuyao’s U.S. factory. The documentary aired in full as featured segments on flagship TV news programs.
